KÖSTLER is a family owned business established by Johann Köstler at Kraslice in 1891. The original business was focused on manufacturing of musical instruments and their accessories.

After 1945, the Köstler family resumed their business in Nauheim. As of 1963, a new business consisted in the production of components for the automotive industry was launched. Therefore, the KÖSTLER Company has 50 years of experience and tradition as an interior supplier of the automotive industry.

Nowadays, the manufacturing plants are located in Jöhstadt (Germany) and Chomutov (Czech Republic). Initially a small and medium business has become one of the leaders in manufacture of airbags made from textiles. KÖSTLER products are now being sold worldwide and built in models of numerous car makers. KÖSTLER’s manufacture follows trends regarding the use of lightweight components from innovative materials in the automotive industry. In addition, KÖSTLER continues to produce lots of interior components for OEM and other system suppliers. They include, for example, armrests, gear lever knobs and gaiters, handles, sunshields as well as sleeve covers for steering columns.

KÖSTLER also accepts production orders for samples or prototypes. KÖSTLER’s basic competencies lie within textiles and fabrics, and more and more overall handling of complete interior components (i.e. plastic carriers, foam-backing, backing of covers from textiles, plastic or genuine leather precision made in the company). It is partially based on co-operation with qualified certified partners in given industry.

KÖSTLER’s Code of Conduct guidelines prepared in 2015 are challenging and impose high standards on behaviour and actions within our business and social activities. Our  company as a supplier is regularly evaluated through EcoVadis, thus ensuring a high level transparency and integrity towards our business partners.
